FFX-2 has a new system that uses Garment Grids. These grids allow you to set a certain amount of Dresspheres that your characters can use. This requires you to be thoughtful when you prepare a character. If you want your character to access certain abilities you need either the sphere equipped or make sure the Garment Grid you are using has that ability built in. Otherwise you are out of luck.
Explanation
There are four types of Gates on a grid between the Nodes (holes to put your spheres), that are always Yellow (Y), Blue (B) Red (R) and Green (G) and these Gates add elements to your sphere that you would normally not have, like strength, magic, poison, haste, whatever. Make sure you read all the fine print before you load it on your character cause you could cause either some serious damage to an ennemy or end up curing them everytime you attack! Keep your eyes peeled.
Tip
There is something very important you need to know about the sphere grid system. When you pass through a Gate while changing dresspheres, you activate the correspondent ability. So, in the following tables you will see G, R, B, Y in various combinations.
These combination MUST be activated before you can access the ability. In other words, if it says (G,R,B,Y) you need to activate all four colored nodes before you can have the ability, such as flare or Auto-life. Annoying, yes. Worth it? Oh yeah!
