Final Fantasy II
Statistics
Statistics
The statistics in FF2j work radically differently than in any other Final Fantasy game. This is an explanation of how they work. In FF2j there are no experience points, so it just raises the stats it thinks you need, as measured by what you use. This tells how to raise them and what affects them. Note that dependant statistics are not recalculated after independant statistics change until you equip or unequip something or enter battle (this explains why you can unequip something then equip that exact same thing again and have different statistics than before you unequipped it sometimes).

Casting Change on low level enemies is an easy way to get your HP very low quickly without risking killing yourself and use up all your MP. You do not actually have to cast a spell or use a weapon to get credit for it; you just have to enter the command. So if you want to level up a spell, just enter the command do cast the spell, cancel the command, and enter it again (same for using weapons). This will only work for the first three characters, since entering a command for the fourth character starts the battle and you do not have a chance to cancel it, but it is a great help in raising spell and weapon levels and stats for your first three characters. |
