Bad Breath
One of Quistis' Blue Magic limit breaks. The item Malboro Tentacle teaches Quistis this ability. Malboro Tentacles can be obtained by the monster Malboro, and by card modding his card.
Bahamut
One of the GF that Squall and co. obtained during their quest. Bahamut was defeated by Squall and his party in the Deep Sea Research Center. Bahamut's attack is Mega Flare, which does a decent amount of non-elemental damage to all opponents. This is a very long summon, which allowed Squall to boost close to the 250 maximum. Abilityx4 is a very useful ability, as well as Rare Item. It was also nice to have a second Mug ability in Squall's party. Bahamut is a Level 9 card.
Balamb
The smallest continent on the planet. Balamb is an island with mountains occupying the back of it. The Fire Cavern, the town of Balamb, and Balamb Garden are the only places of significance there.
Description of Balamb:
Balamb is also a small town on the continent of Balamb. Balamb is next to the sea, and despite its small size, has excellent transportation. There are roads, a train station, and a boat port. The train station and port are often used to dispatch SeeD members from Balamb Garden to other continents. Balamb Garden owns several high speed assault boats that reside at the port, and there are also trains exclusively for SeeD use only.
Balamb is populated by very few people and is the hometown of Zell (after he left the orphanage). Ma Dincht and Big Bad Rascal were the two of most importance to Squall and co. Balamb is also where Squall first met the Queen of Cards. There is a very nice hotel at Balamb, as well as an item shop and a car rental shop. During Galbadia's Invasion:
Balamb was a peaceful town during Squall's quest, until Galbadia took it over when Balamb Garden became mobile. Under command of Seifer and Sorceress Edea, Galbadia invaded the town in search of Ellone. Squall and co. returned there and managed to get inside. They fought the captain, who was Raijin, and then they fought Raijin and Fujin together, who ran away after their defeat. This ended the invasion of Balamb.

Balamb Garden
Description of Garden
Balamb Garden is on the continent of Balamb and is the second biggest Garden in the world. The entrance to the Garden is rather long, but is a very beautiful sight. The first floor is made up of the lobby, a circular hallway, a library, a training center, a parking lot, a dormitory, a cafeteria, a quad, an elevator, and an infirmary. The second floor has all of the classrooms, a balcony, and an emergency exit. The third floor is Cid's office, and when the balcony became mobile, took you to the bridge, where Nida steered the Garden. The B1 level is where Master NORG resides, and the MD level is an old shelter, built before the Garden even existed.
Lobby
The lobby is where you exit the Garden, and is where SeeD candidates meet to get ready for the field exam. There is a map of the first floor of the Garden in the center of the lobby. There are stairs at the end of the lobby that lead to the elevator, which can take you to the MD level, B1, 2nd floor, and 3rd floor.
Circular Hallways
One either side of the dorm is the beginning of a hallway, which goes into a large circle over a giant pool and meets back on the other side of the lobby. The hallway leads to all of the places on the first floor.
Library
The library was a very important place during Squall's quest. It was where he met Ellone, found an Occult Fan magazine, and where Zell met who is now his girlfriend. The library has a front desk, shelves of books, and a study panel.
Training Center
The Training Center is the only area besides the dorms that is open at night. The Training Center has real monsters inside, to allow people to train against the real thing. Grats and T-Rexaur's are the two beasts that occupy the center, the latter being extremely difficult to defeat. The Training Center goes in a large circle, and at the end of the circle is a secret balcony where many people go after hours. This is where Quistis took Squall to tell him that she was demoted to a SeeD. The Training Center is also where Squall saved Ellone from monsters.
Parking Lot
Whenever SeeD's are dispatched on missions, they get a car from the parking lot to go to Balamb, where they either take a boat or plane. SeeD candidates taking the field exam also must take a car.
Dormitory
Where most people in the Garden go to sleep at night. While some commute from Balamb, the majority of the people just sleep in the dorm. When a Garden member becomes a SeeD, they get a new, improved room. Squall went here to rest often during his quest.
Cafeteria
The cafeteria is where everyone in the Garden usually eats. Their specialty is hot dogs, which always seem to be out. You order your food in the front, and the tables are in the back. Many people go to the tables just to talk together. One of the cafeteria workers' son left years ago, and Squall found him in FH for her.
Quad
There are several stairways leading to a stage in the quad. There is also a waterfall from the pool in the quad. Past the stage is a little balcony where you can see outside. This is where the Galbadian motorcyclists got inside the Garden during their invasion. This is also where Rinoa fell, but managed to hang on to the edge until Squall saved her. When the Garden rammed into FH, the stage fell apart, but the FH technicians moved it into the town to hold the Garden Festival. Another important thing that happened here was that Squall gave his ring to Zell, who then gave it to Rinoa.
Infirmary
Where injured students and SeeD go. Dr. Kadowaki runs the infirmary, and she was the one who tended Squall when he got cut from Seifer. The Infirmary has the front, where Dr. Kadowaki sits most of the time, and the back, which has two beds. This is where Squall met Ellone for the first time in years, and it is also where Cid told Squall a lot of things about himself and Garden. Rinoa also rested here when she was unconscious.
Quistis' Classroom
The only classroom that Squall attended. When Quistis was an instructor, this is where she taught Squall. This is also where Squall's study panel is, which has a lot of useful information, like tutorial, which taught Squall how to fight and use magic and GF. The study panel also had all of the Garden's rules and regulations on it, as well as information on the people, places, and terms of the world. It also had Selphie's Garden Festival page, which had her diary of Squall's quest, the Timber Maniac articles Laguna wrote, and her friends. This is where the three Trepies usually are. The Trepies are a group that greatly admire Quistis Trepe. This classroom is also where some Galbadia soldiers invaded and were about to attack the junior classmen, but Squall saved them just in time.
Emergency Exit
There is an emergency exit on the wall of the second floor between the classroom and the balcony. Squall used this to get away from the Galbadian Soldier that was on a flying machine.
Second Floor Balcony
A balcony at the end of the second floor hallway that overlooks Balamb. When the Garden became mobile, this balcony was used to get into FH and to talk to the White SeeDs on their ship.
Cid's Office
When students at Balamb Garden become SeeDs, they go up to Cid's office to be congratulated by him and to receive their rank. When the Garden became mobile, Squall used Cid's office to get to the bridge.
Bridge
Where Nida piloted Balamb Garden after it became mobile. Squall and co. came up here often to discuss their next destination and to guide Nida. The controls to guide the Garden were put in by the FH technicians.
B1 Level
Where Garden Master NORG resides. This is where Squall found out that Cid is married to Edea, that the assassination order was a scam, and other things from NORG. Squall and co. then fought NORG and put an end to his greedy and evil ways.
MD Level
The MD level is where Squall and co. went to save the Garden from the missiles. The MD level actually existed before the Garden did, acting as a shelter of some sort. Years later, Balamb Garden was built on top of it. The MD level is the only place in the Garden besides the Training Center that has monsters in it. After several stairways and ladders is a large machine. When Squall activated it, it made the Garden start to fly, saving the Garden from the missiles.
Rules in the Garden
Using weapons or magic in the Garden in any place other than the training center is strictly prohibited. There is no food or drink in the library. There should be no injuries or magic used during training sessions. SeeDs are to be treated exactly the same as regular students, they get no special treatment except for a better dorm.
Facts about Balamb Garden
Balamb Garden's two most important faculty members are the headmaster and the administrator. The headmaster, who is currently Cid, founded Balamb Garden with his wife, Edea. The administrator, who was currently Master NORG before Squall defeated him, came up with the idea of dispatching SeeD's around the world to get funds. The headmaster is the one who is in charge of basically everything, and the administrator handles things like funds. Balamb Garden is larger than Trabia Garden, and smaller than Galbadia Garden. Any students in Trabia Garden wishing to become SeeDs must transfer to Balamb Garden, which is how Selphie met Squall. Balamb Garden researches the use of GF in conjunction with para-magic, and is the only Garden to use GF.
Truth about Balamb Garden
Balamb Garden is a haven for orphans. Most of the students, including Squall, Zell, Selphie, Seifer, and Quistis, were orphans at one point before going to the Garden. Balamb Garden's purpose was to defeat the Sorceress, and the SeeDs being dispatched around the world was just training for the final battle against the Sorceress.
SeeDs
A student can try to become a SeeD as soon as they turn 15. If a student does not become a SeeD by age 18, than he/she can no longer be in the Garden. In order to become a SeeD, you must pass a written exam and a field exam. SeeDs conduct missions around the world, which mostly consist of battle support and undercover work. They are especially in high demand by small groups in need of undercover specialists. Commissions made through such dispatches are a huge part of Balamb Garden's income. All of the missions are actually just training for the final battle against the Sorceress.BarrierAn item that teaches Quistis the Blue Magic Mighty Guard. See 'Mighty Guard' to find out how to get it. 50 Barriers refines to an Aegis Armlet using GFAbl Med-RF, and 1 Barrier refines to 40 uses of Shell magic using Supt Mag-RF.
