The Apocalypse Party
The Apocalypse Party was the first party created for the 2010 elections and quickly asserted a dominant position. The brainchild of Freya and Jiro, the party had been brainstormed over the course of several months as the two planned to launch the elections themselves. Within minutes of the elections being announced, Jiro had launched the party thread with all requirements to advance to the preliminary round met, thanks to the conscription of The Summoner of Leviathan and Yar.
The Apocalypse Party engaged in heated battle with The Happy Smilers at first, who they deemed an evil cult. Upon the rise of The Zombie Party, a rivalry was created, with members from both parties engaging in fiery debates and thread spamming.
A challenge set by qwertysaur prompted Jiro and Freya to create “fun” threads in every forum. However, a desperate attempt to create threads for the Site Contributions and FFXIII Site Content fora saw Jiro create a second account and post a spam thread, eventually culminating in a temporary banning, and annoying most of the Site Staff. The challenge was arguably completed at a later stage. Shortly afterwards qwertysaur joined the Zombie party.
The Apocalypse Party gained a lot of members through defections, with their booze-fuelled antics and carefree attitude towards the end of the world being a key point of interest between members. A Sandcrawler was stolen from The "I Didn't Like Any Of The Other Parties So I Joined This Party" Party and converted into a Party Crawler, which served as a base of operations for hijinks and parties. The Party Crawler was later stolen again, this time by the Zombie Party in a highly successful raid. This also featured in a party fanfiction created by Jiro, titled “Hell Hath No Fury Like How We Party” (one of the threads made from the above mentioned challenge) which included numerous events happening during the election.
Their slogan, “Be high on life, booze, drugs, even sexual exploitation, it's the end of the world and there is no reason not to party!” covered all the cornerstones of their party, showing that there was something for everyone in The Apocalypse Party.
Their motto: “The end is nigh so let's get high!”

The Preliminary Votes
The Apocalypse Party polled strongly, but were beaten out by The 501st Legion by a single vote, ending with a total of 11 votes. The deciding vote was cast by Quin, who had earlier opted not to vote due to torn loyalties between Jiro and Psychotic, the leaders of the Apocalypse and Zombie parties respectively. Then he pulls a dick move like that, bastard.
The Apocalypse Party celebrated their success with another round of drinks, before most members completed a post-prelim round merger with The 501st Legion in order to crush their mutual enemy, The Zombie Party. However, their efforts were mostly in vain as the Zombie Party won all but one position during the final vote.
