During the 1999-2000 period, EzBoard was infested with FF-related EzBoards. There were dozens, hundreds of them. One of the owners of one gaming-EzBoard(City of Dreams), Prince Edge, decided to make another EzBoard for purposes of bringing some of these boards together in order to make a story(a forums-based ORPG). He called the new message board “the Gamer's Alliance.”
The Highwind was invited to join tGA at the very beginning of January of 2000. Cid was told to bring brave Knights in order to help fight off the darkness(or something equally corny). The members that responded were: Dr Unne, Big Ogre Umaro, Raistlin, IGN64skanker, erik ramza, Dan Walkie, TifaL, and Sir Krelian. The other boards involved in this died off soon after invitation.
The members of CoD(the Kingdom of Eblana) teamed up with the members of The Highwind(the Kingdom of Cardia) and several other members from various boards to fight of Chaos, the God of…well, take a wild guess. During this first adventure, Dr Unne and Raistlin from The Highwind were promoted to administrator, which strengthened the bond between tGA and The Highwind(later EoFF).
The old tGA can be found at http://pub3.ezboard.com/bthegamersalliance.html. tGA is still alive and well at http://www.thegamersalliance.net/(approve sites) and remains closely tied with EoFF. Prince Edge quit sometime during the EzBoard days, and for a while it was run without an owner. EoFF veteran Raistlin now owns tGA. Raistlin and TifaL(Jojo) are two of the veteran EoFFers still active at tGA.
Several prominent members of EoFF came from tGA: krissy(Not At All Reno), Emerald Aeris, Britt, Princess Usa, Mat-…oh, wait, I said prominent.
The setting of tGA is of a Medieval fantasy world with very little technology (although crude technology does exist in some places in the world), and it's inhabited by humans, elves and dwarves. Magic is common, and every person (even those who don't have magic skills) is gifted with a unique innate magical ability. Dragons and other mythical creatures such as griffons exist as well.
The story of the RP at tGA has been complex, and it has introduced various heroes and villains over the years. The previous RPs have become a part of the history of the tGA world, and the past affects the RP even today when old characters are mentioned (and at times even revived!). Heroes have fought in wars between nations and thwarted the plans of evil mages, power-hungry warlords, ruthless demons and even dark gods. The world itself has had a few apocalypses, but it has always survived, and the later generations have continued the adventures of their forefathers.
More information on the lore of tGA can be found on their shiny wiki, maintained by Kossage who has put in a smurfload of effort updating that thing.
