The playin's where a passing fad back in 2006, and a long time writing thread by Goldenboko started with the creation of Squall and Rinoa Playin by Goldenboko (what was at the time Goldenboco).

The original idea of Squall and Rinoa Playin' (Eventually referred to as SAR Playin' for short) was Squall, Rinoa, and the rest of the cast of Final Fantasy VIII playing their own video game and the hilarious issues/situations that would occur. Eventually it strayed from it's original idea, and took on a straight out comedy starring the cast and crew of FFVII (and occasionally other games).

It was immediately popular and was quickly spun off by other users with FF IV, VII, IX, and X versions, but none where reached the same type of popularity as the original made by Goldenboko. After months of success Goldenboko abandoned his original playin' (which to his dismay was never archived) Eventually Goldenboko succeeded his thread with a spinoff of his own EoFF Playin'.

The idea was incredibly similar, a straight out, comedy with the cast of the EoFF Members as well as any character from Final Fantasy. Eventually.Vincent, Thunder God influenced EoFF Playin' by recommending painting the scene and having a better layout by using a Play script style, giving the term playin' a whole new meaning.

The Fad element of the Playin's had passed and Goldenboko eventually followed up the Playin's with EoFF Playin' II, SAR Playin' II, and SAR Playin' III. The third season of Squall and Rinoa Playin' was quite a flop, with funny, but few episodes. Goldenboko blames it partly on school and work, and also on his own laziness. On October 20th 2008 Goldenboko started EoFF Playin' Season III, which he says he will take care of better then he did SAR Playin' III, it is currently the only Playin' still in production.
