2024 Goals

What are your goals for 2024? Post them here, then we can come back at the end of the year and see how we did.

My goals:

1. More novelty. I want to try more novel things, outside my usual routine or comfort zone. I think one per week is too easy so I am going to aim for 100 which is about 2 per week.

2. Wear more fun socks and hats but get them all at independent shops or as gifts.

3. Do something with Eyes on FF.

1. I need to write about 50,000 words (about 100 pages non double spaced) so I can safely finish my novel and work on getting it released.

2. Finish the FFVII Retrospective this year.

3. Do some renovations to my house.

4. Fix my keyboard...

5. Lose ten pounds in the next six months

6. Play and finish the main campaign of FFXI this year for my marathon.

7. Finish Lightning Returns

8. Visit a hot springs

9. Build a healthy routine in terms of exercise, eating better (I need to start making my own lunches again), and getting better and consistent sleep. I've done this before, I just need to get back into the flow again.

10. Look into buying a new car this year.

11. Stay ambitious. I feel I have a really bad habit of going with the flow too much and finding myself settling for temporary comfort instead of pushing myself to achieve what I really want out of life.

1. Complete the pencil drawings for volume 1 of my graphic novel (40 pages so far of roughly around estimated 180)

1.5. Color and release the first couple of chapters online. (Fans will be making a wiki of me soon )

2. Get a new car. (Vroom)

3. Eat better (tbh, that hasn't started out too well yet )

4. Grab myself a PS5 (Yeah, I'm late to the party).

5. Read more (Last year was pretty light on the reading versus previous years)

That's all I can think of for the time being, but I'd say it's a solid, doable list.

1. I need to be in bed before 10 lol my toddler wakes up early no matter when I go to bed and I'm exhausted by my late-night habits.
2. I want to get in the top 100's of one of the Amazon book categories. I'm aiming for a new subgenre with less competition and have been rubbing elbows with a bunch in the top of that genre so I'm hoping that'll happen this year.
3. Lose some weight. I want a new wardrobe but don't want to have to buy it and then lose weight, ya know?

1. Make new friends. (I'm moving soon and won't know anyone in the new city)
2. Get a consistent D&D/TTRPG campaign going.
3. Take my doggos on more walks. The pups getting chubby and that's my fault.

2. Learn salsa dancing.
3. Learn Spanish.
4. Finish Volume I of my comic series.
5. Learn to draw.
6. Complete my Dragonbane Mystara conversion and get consistent weekly sesh going.

1. Return to NZ for first time in 22 years (done!)
2. See stepsister for first time in 22 years (done!)
3. Meet nieces and nephew for the first time (done!)
4. See the South Island of NZ for the first time (done!)
5. Take a plane & boat tour of Milford Sound (done!)
6. Go to Distant Worlds (planning a trip to New York already)
7. Meet online friends for the first time (done! Met o_O and Fujiko during my NZ trip, they are a delight! also planning to meet nine Twitch friends in New York)
8. See my stepbro get married (planning a trip to the US in September for this!)
9. Get better at my job
10. Maybe also FF7 Rebirth Concert Tour thingy? Will be tricky to do London due to the above holiday. We'll see.
